That might be a last resort. But those 2 look pretty young so they've either had "the treatment" or the new ships are incredibly fast. It would be really cool if EVERYBODY lives for like a thousand years now because the longevity method has been perfected...!

Wait until the newcomers find out what a mess some of the original colonists have made of relations with the natives. They might be tempted to scoop everyone up and haul the back to Earth fpr trial. ><

Can't rule that out, but the major point I see is that technology is back. This would enable the new colonists to repeat the errors of the first set . . . but perhaps those old-timers can restrain them, having learned their lesson?
